Artes de la Rosa

Artes de la Rosa, formerly Latin Arts Association of Fort Worth, is the non-profit organization that manages the historic gem of Fort Worth 's Northside – The Rose Marine Theater, and Fort Worth's only Hispanic theater company - Teatro de la Rosa. Artes de la Rosa obtained its non-profit status from the IRS in November, 1999, and though still a young organization, has quickly managed to become an award-winning organization receiving praise for its children's programming and critical acclaim for its productions.

The Rose Marine Theater, the home of Artes de la Rosa, opened as a movie house in the 1920s and has operated under three names, and has a legacy of presenting Spanish language films to generations of the Northside's ever increasing Hispanic population. The theater is listed on the National Register of Historic places.

Our Mission

Artes de la Rosa is dedicated to preserving, promoting, and interpreting the art, culture, lives, and history of the Latino community by:
    (1) Establishing a venue for Latino art and cultural performances;
    (2) Offering educational art/culture programs to the community,with an emphasis on serving low income residents and families in Fort Worth
    (3) Providing opportunities and support for established and emerging Latino artists and performers; and
    (4) Serving as the central support organization and resource center for Latino art and culture in the City of Fort Worth.

Our Method

The DIA DE LOS MUERTOS 5k Race & Fun Run event coincides with Artes de la Rosa's festival which has become an annual tradition for families and the North Texas Community featuring artisans, folkloric performances, and a celebration of the holiday. The event is the largest of its kind and draws participants from hundreds of miles around. The creation and inclusion of the Race was specifically designed to create awareness about the Dia de los Muertos holiday, highlight the cultural diversity in North Texas, and promote healthy activities amongst children in our community.
